Decide what connection you actually need

A short visit with maps and messaging is different from a month of video calls. Decide whether you need a Georgian telephone number, mobile data only, hotspot use or a fixed connection at home. Check the roaming terms of your existing provider before letting your phone connect abroad.

Keep account-recovery methods accessible while you travel. If your bank sends codes to your existing number, make sure you understand how that number will remain available.

Check the device before buying an eSIM

Read the operator’s current activation instructions and keep the relevant account information secure. Do not delete a working eSIM profile casually: a change of device or reinstall can have its own activation conditions.

Ask the right questions at purchase

Confirm the package’s validity, data allowance, any local number, call or message inclusions, hotspot conditions and how to top up. Compare the final amount payable rather than only a headline data figure. Ask the operator what identification and registration steps apply to your purchase.

Test an apartment connection

If internet matters for work, test the connection at the actual property and ask who manages the contract and faults. A general claim that a building has Wi-Fi does not prove that the apartment has the speed, stability or workspace you need. Include this requirement in your property brief before committing.
