Keep your business records organised
A registration certificate is the start of running a business, not the end of its administration. StartGE offers accounting and tax-filing services. ExploreGE can connect you with that team to discuss a working routine for records, declarations and questions that arise during the year. The agreed service should reflect your actual activity rather than a generic promise about tax savings.
Set up the working routine
Useful accounting support starts with a description of the business and a reliable flow of records. Explain the legal form, activity, staffing, payment methods and where transactions take place. If trading has already started, say from which date and identify any earlier filings or correspondence that need review.
Agree who does what
- Which bookkeeping and filing tasks are included in the engagement.
- How invoices, receipts, contracts and bank records will be supplied.
- Who checks missing information and answers official correspondence.
- How payroll, additional registrations or unusual transactions are handled if relevant.
- How the adviser communicates deadlines, fees and work outside the regular scope.
Keep business and personal questions separate enough for the adviser to understand both. A general service page cannot establish an individual tax position. Request advice based on the actual activity, residence circumstances and records rather than assuming another founder’s arrangement will apply.
A useful starting brief
- Whether you already operate as an IE or an LLC.
- The type and approximate volume of transactions.
- Employees, contractors or cross-border payments to consider.
- Whether records are current or need an initial review.
From enquiry to a clear scope
Ask who prepares the work, how information is shared, what deadlines apply to your case and what the fee covers. A clear onboarding process should identify the records you retain and the actions the provider undertakes. Rates, reporting periods and eligibility for special treatment require a current, case-specific assessment; they are not quoted as universal rules here.
Keep planning
Good to know.
Can I ask for accounting after registering elsewhere?
Yes. Describe the existing business and the records available so the provider can assess the onboarding work.
Are accounting and formation automatically one package?
No. Confirm the included periods, filings and responsibilities in the written service scope.
Can the service review an existing business?
Yes, you can enquire about an existing business. Explain when trading started, what records and filings exist, and any outstanding correspondence so the team can assess the work.
