Count nights before places

A week becomes much easier to plan when you start with the first and last flights. An arrival late in the evening is an accommodation night, not a full sightseeing day. Put both airport journeys on the calendar, then count the time between them before adding regional stops.

This suggested route is for a visit centred on Tbilisi. It uses the capital as a first base and then offers a choice of one regional stay. If your flights use Kutaisi or Batumi, change the route around those airports rather than spending the visit crossing the country to copy somebody else’s schedule.

Days one to three: settle into Tbilisi

Use the arrival day for your final address, a meal and sleep. Keep the first full day for Old Tbilisi, with one neighbourhood walk and enough time to stop. Make the next day about a different interest: architecture, a museum, a market or a longer lunch.

Mtskheta is an option for a separate heritage visit from the capital. Its principal monuments are distinct stops, so agree transport and the time you want at each. If you prefer to stay in the city, keep that day open instead. There is no requirement to leave Tbilisi simply to make the itinerary look full.

Days four and five: choose one contrast

For a food-and-wine emphasis, choose Kakheti. A regional stay gives you time to walk in Sighnaghi and arrange a cellar visit without fitting everything into a single day out and back. Make the meal and transport arrangements part of the plan.

For a mountain emphasis, choose Stepantsminda. Keep the exact outing flexible and check the conditions locally. This is a choice between two kinds of trip, not an instruction to squeeze both into two days. If mountains are the main reason for travelling, give them more of the week.

Days six and seven: return with breathing room

Return to the city with time before the departure flight. Use the last available day for something you postponed, a favourite neighbourhood or a quiet meal. Confirm your departure pickup around the correct local date, luggage and terminal, especially for an early-hours flight.

Before requesting arrangements, write a brief with your airports, number of nights, group size, interests and desired pace. Mention the experience you most want to keep if something else must be removed. The ExploreGE itinerary desk can use that to build a route for your dates, with accommodation, providers and prices confirmed before any booking.

Good to know.

Is this a bookable package with a fixed price?

No. This is an example of how to divide a first visit. Dates, airport choices, accommodation, transport and activities need an individual arrangement.

Should I add Batumi to this week too?

Decide from your airports and priorities rather than adding every major destination. A coast-focused week can be planned as its own route.
